Terms of service
General
By renting products from Tourvo ehf., reg. no. 700125-2030 (“Tourvo”), the client agrees to the specified terms and conditions. In these terms and conditions, 'we,' 'us,' and 'our' refer to Tourvo.
We advise clients to carefully review the terms and conditions before finalizing their booking and payment.
Prices
All prices are listed in Icelandic Krona (ISK). The customer is required to pay the full amount, including the rental price and any agreed-upon fees, at the time of booking online. Prices cover the rental of the product, Icelandic VAT, as well as standard cleaning and handling.
Payment arrangements
Clients must use a credit card to complete their booking, and we accept most major credit cards. The credit card used for the booking must remain the same until the rental period ends. In certain situations, the credit card details provided may be used to cover costs for damages or misuse of our product, as explained later.
Delivery
If the customer requests delivery, a delivery fee will be added to the total booking cost. Delivery times may vary by day but will always occur between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM. Customers can specify their preferred delivery time when booking, and we will do our best to accommodate their request. A text message will be sent the day before with an estimated delivery time. Once the rental period begins and the customer receives the product, they are responsible for ensuring it is in good condition. Products will be delivered on the first day of the rental period and must be returned on the last day. If the customer wishes to receive the items earlier (e.g., the day before) or return them later (e.g., the day after), they must include those dates in their booking.
Pickup Policy
For customers opting for pickup, rental items can be collected free of charge at Útilíf, Skeifan 11d, 108 Reykjavík during the following hours:
- Monday to Friday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: 11:00 PM – 4:00 PM
In the case of cancelled or delayed flights, we strive to be accommodating. Customers should notify us of any delays as soon as possible via email at tourvo@tourvo.is or by phone at +354 477-7999. If a customer has not contacted us within one hour of the scheduled pickup time, we reserve the right to mark the booking as a No-show, and No-shows are not eligible for refunds.
Changes, cancellations, and reimbursements
To make changes or cancel a booking, clients must contact us via email at tourvo@tourvo.is and inform us of the changes or cancellation.
The following cancellation fees apply:
- Clients can cancel their bookings free of charge minus 5% transaction fee, if done at least 7 days before the scheduled pickup or delivery date.
- Cancellations made 1 to 4 days before the scheduled pickup or delivery date will receive a 80% refund.
- Cancellations made within 3 days of the scheduled pickup or delivery date are non-refundable.
At Tourvo, we do our best to accommodate any changes to our clients booking. While we make every effort to keep a sufficient stock of products, so an extension and/or changes may be possible, we cannot guarantee:
- rental period extensions; and
- availability of different sizes or colours.
Late Returns & Rental Extensions
If a customer anticipates being unable to return the rented product at the agreed-upon time, they must notify Tourvo immediately.
In such cases, an extension of the rental period may be possible, subject to Tourvo’s approval and product availability. If an extension is granted, the customer will receive an invoice via email and must pay the full amount without delay.
The extension fee will be calculated based on the applicable daily rate for the additional days, as listed on www.tourvo.is, regardless of the number of days in the original booking. The customer is not entitled to extend the rental at the same rate as their initial booking.
If no extension agreement is made or the customer fails to notify Tourvo about a late return, a daily penalty fee will be charged. This fee will correspond to the standard one-day rental price of the product, as stated on www.tourvo.is, and will continue to accrue for each day past the rental period until the product is returned.
If Tourvo is not informed of a delayed return and the product is not returned within three days after the rental period ends, Tourvo reserves the right to charge the full value of the product. Once the full value has been charged, ownership of the product is transferred to the customer.
Short Notice Bookings
Bookings made through the website (www.tourvo.is) must be completed at least 24 hours in advance.
For bookings with less than 24 hours’ notice (“Short Notice Bookings”), customers must contact Tourvo via email at tourvo@ourvo.is or by phone +354 477-7999. We will do our very best to arrange the booking.
Please note that for Short Notice Bookings, we cannot guarantee that the color you have chosen will be in stock. We will inform you of the available color options and do our best to accommodate your preference.
Additionally, the delivery time for Short Notice Bookings may be less precise, and there could be some delays. For this reason, we recommend choosing the pickup option instead to ensure a more accurate and timely experience.
Product Usage
Customers are expected to handle all rental products with care and follow any instructions provided, if applicable. Exposure to strong odors, such as smoke, is strictly prohibited. Additionally, products must not be stained with substances such as makeup, oils, or other residues that could make them unsuitable for further rental. If a product is contaminated or damaged, it will be treated as such and subject to the terms outlined below.
Exceptions to the odor restrictions may be made if a product is rented for a specific activity, such as horse riding, where exposure to natural scents is unavoidable. However, this does not apply to damage or contamination, and customers are still responsible for returning the product in good condition. The intended use must be disclosed at the time of booking.
Product Damage, Loss, and Liability
If a product is returned in poor condition, such as broken or damaged, the full cost of the product will be charged to the customer’s credit card. The same applies if the product is stolen or lost during the rental period. Tourvo will make every effort to minimize financial loss in such cases and, if possible, attempt to repair the damage. If repairs or spare parts are available, these will be considered when determining the final cost.
If a product is returned in an exceptionally poor state, such as being excessively dirty, stained with substances that are difficult or impossible to remove, or carrying a strong odor (e.g., cigarette smoke), an extra cleaning fee of 5,000 ISK will be charged.
Tourvo is not responsible for any discomfort, allergic reactions, or issues arising from the fit, condition, or performance of rented product. Customers are responsible for selecting appropriate sizes and ensuring the product meets their needs before use. If a customer notices a significant defect upon receiving the product, they must inform Tourvo immediately.
If a product is damaged, lost, or destroyed during the rental period, the customer must inform Tourvo immediately so that appropriate arrangements can be made for other bookings.
Product Variations and Color Selection
The appearance of the product you receive may vary slightly from the images shown on our website, social media, or in brochures, as these are for illustrative purposes only. While we strive to display accurate colors, we cannot guarantee that your device's display will reflect the exact color of the product. As a result, the actual product you receive may differ slightly in color or design.
Some products are available in multiple colors. Customers may request a specific color; however, if the requested color is unavailable, a 15% discount will be applied to the booking. Please note that in such cases, the booking will not be refundable due to the color discrepancy.
Taxes and Fees
All prices on the website include VAT and invoices are issued with VAT.
Changes to Policies, Terms, and Conditions
Tourvo reserves the right to update or modify these terms and conditions, or any related information, at any time. Any changes will take effect immediately upon being posted on this website. The most current version will always be available online, and any updates will be clearly visible on our website.
Delivery to hotels, airbnbs etc.
Deliveries are made daily between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
Customers can specify their preferred delivery time when booking, and we will do our best to accommodate their request. On the day before the first day of the rental period, the customer will receive a text message/email from Tourvo with a more specific delivery time.
The customer is responsible for informing Tourvo via email tourvo@tourvo.is or by phone at +354 477-7999 if they are unable to receive the product at the scheduled time.
If a Tourvo staff member arrives to deliver the product at the scheduled time, and no one is home or answers the phone, the staff member will wait for 30 minutes. After this waiting period, if no one responds, the Tourvo staff member will leave to proceed with other deliveries. In this case, Tourvo reserves the right to mark the booking as a “no-show,” and the customer will automatically lose the right to receive the product. No-show bookings are non-refundable.
The same procedure applies when Tourvo comes to pick up the product after the rental period ends. If no one is home or answers the door, the staff member will wait for 30 minutes. After this time, they will continue with other pickups or deliveries. In these cases, Tourvo reserves the right to charge a daily fine equivalent to the rental price of the product based on a one-day rental, as stated on our website. This fine will be charged for each day the product is not returned after the rental period has ended. If the product has not been returned within three days after the rental period, Tourvo reserves the right to charge the full value of the product. Once the full value is charged, the customer will be considered the owner of the product.
Under no circumstances will Tourvo leave products outside when no one is home or allow customers to leave products outside for pickup. In certain cases, an arrangement can be made for products to be left inside, such as in a garage, storage space, or entryway. In these cases, the customer is responsible for the product once the Tourvo staff member leaves it behind.
